About Us

What began as a small step of obedience has become a multigenerational family on mission. By God’s grace, we will continue to proclaim hope, build people, and love our city and surrounding communities—until the whole valley hears the breath of new life.  We are a family, breathing life into dry places!

The mission of Ezekiel Church & Ministries is to build people, strengthen families, and transform communities through Christ-centered worship, Biblical teaching, compassionate service, and holistic wellness.

Our History

“Then He said to me, ‘Prophesy to these bones and say to them, dry bones, hear the word of the Lord.’” — Ezekiel 37:4

Our Beginning

The Ezekiel Church & Ministries is a Christ-centered, Spirit-led, community-rooted church committed to restoration, discipleship, and wholeness.  On Sunday, December 9, 2007, in Baltimore, Maryland, Ezekiel Church & Ministries was birthed out of simple conviction: God still breathes life into dry places.  What began as a small circle of prayer, Bible study, and community care soon grew into a gathering of people hungry for sound teaching, authentic worship, and tangible hope for the city.

Sensing the need for a healthy, Spirit-led fellowship that served both souls and the streets, the founding team—Missionary Betty L. Alford Tyson, Wiley Tyson, Zenobia McLendon, Azizi Justice, and Elder Tyrell D. Moyd—encouraged The Reverend Domanic A. Smith, M.Div., to organize the work and shape its pastoral care. Under his leadership, the fellowship matured into an established church family with a clear mission: to preach Christ, make disciples, and love Baltimore in practical ways.

A Ministry of Care and Compassion

From the beginning, pastoral care and community compassion have been woven into our DNA. The church’s early rhythms—hospital visits, counseling, benevolence, and intercession—were matched by partnerships extending care beyond our walls to senior adults and neighbors in need. Rev. Smith’s concurrent service launching pastoral care at the Maryland Baptist Aged Home helped cement a culture of presence, prayer, and dignity for every person.

Our Journey of Worship

Over the years, God has guided our worship journey through several sacred spaces:

  • 2007–2009: Hamilton Elementary/Middle School, Steffon and Hamilton Avenues, Baltimore, MD 21214

  • 2009–2011: Vision’s Banquet Hall, 5503 Ricard Avenue, Baltimore, MD 21214

  • 2011–2020: Upper Sanctuary of Brown’s Memorial Baptist Church, 3215 West Belvedere Avenue, Baltimore, MD 21215

  • 2020–2021: Virtual worship during the COVID-19 pandemic

In 2021, Ezekiel Church & Ministries united with a church in Turner Station, as our pastor was called to shepherd that congregation.

Then, on the second Sunday of December 2023, Ezekiel Church & Ministries was reborn, resuming worship at St. Matthew’s United Methodist Church (2023–2025). Today, we worship in Northeast Baltimore at 4642 Belair Road, Baltimore, MD 21206, while continuing vital ministry in Turner Station.

Ministry Expansion and Community Impact

As vision grew, so did our ministries. Sunday worship with strong preaching, midweek discipleship, church and community-wide prayer, and leadership development have become foundational.

Outreach remains central to our calling. Ezekiel’s Closet (established in 2024), our Community Health and Resource Fair, and collaborations with Turner Station Recreation Council, Turner Station Conservation Teams, Inc., and The Fleming Center exemplify our belief that the Gospel is good news for the whole person and the whole community.

Our Worship and Witness

Our gatherings blend heartfelt worship with biblical preaching aimed at everyday faithfulness. We equip members to bring Christlike integrity to their homes, workplaces, and public life, while laboring shoulder-to-shoulder with other churches and community partners to seek the peace and flourishing of Baltimore and surrounding communities.

Our Commitment

Today, The Ezekiel Church & Ministries—The House of Miracles— stands on God’s faithfulness and the service of many hands. We remain committed to:

  • Deep discipleship rooted in Scripture

  • Pastoral care that meets people where they are

  • Community engagement that is consistent, collaborative, and compassionate

  • Raising servant-leaders for the next generation
